Actress Nargis Fakhri was the showstopper for the designer duo’s bridal collection. She looked resplendent in an orange and golden lehenga choli. The choli was elaborately done up with meenakari work whereas the lehenga was highlighted with a border. She looked quite the beautiful bride..
The collection had a festive feel to it and keeping true to the name “Delhi Ki Dastan” was heavily inspired by the city’s old traditions and cultures and had a Mughal feel. On display were shararas, lehengas, floor skimming anarkalis, dhoti pants and saris. Long sheer jackets were teamed with the outfits, including the saris.
The outfits were heavily embellished with zardozi work and pietra-dura motifs. Paisley patterns also made their presence felt.
The “dhoti” touch was not only felt on the pants and salwars but the way in which the saris were draped.  Hues like bronze, copper, orange, green, pink, turquoise, metallic and matte gold were used liberally. Gota patti work was used admirably.
One couldn’t help but admire the way the orange and gold combination was teamed to give an aristocratic feel to the bridal outfits. The combination made its presence felt on a plethora of pieces on display and also complemented the “traditional Indian” bridal look.
Ashima and Leena’s collection was traditional yet contemporary, beautiful and wearable.
